Big Sur Elopement

The dreamiest day of my life — October, 5th 2019.

I could not have imagined this day to be any more perfect than it was. Everything fell into place in such a short amount of time and I can only thank one person for that, my guardian angel Mason Paul Camarillo. He is the reason Charlie and I decided to get married on a whim in the first place. I’ll never forget the moment I thought I had lost all hope in ever finding happiness again. Little did I know my son was looking out for me. He sent me a sign. He gave me hope. Hope for happiness again. He brought our family closer than we’d ever been. This day means so much more to me then anyone could ever imagine.

When Charlie and I lost our son Mason, we were stuck in a dark place. I wanted nothing more then to find a reason. A reason to be happy again. That’s when it dawned on us. We’d been together going on 6 years and gave life to two beautiful children. One earth side and the other in heaven, but none the less TWO children. The only thing that Charlie and I did not have together was a bond by marriage. Yes, we did things a little backwards but I’m slowly learning that life doesn’t always go how you plan it. I had forever imagined my wedding day to be this extravagant day, something I knew would go down in the books as one of the most amazing days in my life. As a little girl you envision this idea of what your wedding day would look like. I hold myself to some pretty high standards when it comes to throwing parties or hosting events. So if I am being quiet frank the only reason Charlie and I were not married before this was mainly because I couldn’t make up my mind. It started to feel like were practically already married just without the paperwork anyway. So like many other things in life I pushed it to the side in hopes that one day I would feel inspired enough to start planning. That’s when life threw me a nasty curve ball and knocked me right on my butt. That moment we lost our son I knew Charlie and I were destined for each other. Not that I didn’t feel that way about him before but it’s like something in me just clicked and said, “now is the time.” I believe that Mason sent us that sign.

So thanks to him, it all came together. In less than three short months after his passing we were married. We booked a 1969 VW Bus from (Vintage Bus Adventure & Outdoorsy) drove it up the coast, camped out in Big Sur, one of my favorite places in all of California. Stayed at the (Ventana Resort) the night of our wedding, and had our closest family by our sides. Everything from the flowers (Big Sur Flowers) , to the cake (Sweet Reba’s) , to the videographer (Josh Harney Productions) and photographer (Shannon Yen Photography) came together in such a short amount of time and turned out better than I ever imagined it would. I wouldn’t have changed a thing.

Hand-Crafted Custom Jewelry by Happy Cactus Brand

I am so excited to share with you guys my most recent collaboration with Happy Cactus Brand aka Jess. She is seriously one of the sweetest chicks ever, and her jewelry is hand-crafted to perfection! When I first received my package in the mail I was so thrilled (no like seriously, so freaking excited). Everything down to the packaging and branding were on point! (This girl knows her stuff and has major style!)

I decided to have her customize a bar necklace for me that says, “The Gypsy Mama” and a dainty gold cuff that says, “a gypsy soul, a wild heart” and no joke just the few times I’ve already worn them out I have had so many people ask me where I got them from! The best part about Jess and her super rad brand is A. The name obviously lol Happy Cactus Brand? (She had me at Cactus lol) I mean seriously is that not the cutest brand name you’ve ever heard of? Who wouldn’t want to buy jewelry from a brand with that rad of a name?! B. Her stuff is so stinking cute, and the quality is impeccable! C. It is super affordable. I know that you all know how popular those “bar necklaces” are and a lot of other shops that I checked out were double if not triple the price of hers! So truthfully, if you want excellent customer service; some really fun packaging and a unique custom made piece of jewelry that is going to last then head over to her shop now! She has some adorable dainty rings on sale for Valentine’s Day too.

A Unique Wooden Watch on Valentine’s Day for her!

It’s that time of year again, it’s the month to celebrate with the people you love and who matter the most to you. This year for Valentine’s Day we are celebrating in style. I was very lucky to have been gifted this beautiful and unique wooden women’s watch by Jord Watches. It is exactly my style, minimal and hand crafted of raw natural materials. I love the large face, and all of the small details that makes this watch so unique and versatile with any outfit I chose to wear.  I absolutely love how this wooden watch looks by itself or when I dress it up and wear bracelets with it. It is super comfortable and easy to take on and off. When I am not wearing my gorgeous wooden watch I am keeping it stored in the box it came in to preserve it and keep it looking nice. I have the Frankie Series in Koa and Ash. They have a really wonderful selection of men’s watches too. Can you guess what Charlie wants for Valentine’s Day next year? They also give you the option to engrave your loved ones watch if you choose, which I think makes it even more personal and meaningful. This is the type of gift you can cherish for a lifetime! This Valentine’s Day I am grateful to able to spend this quality time with my fiancé, and to be able to look down at my unique wooden watch and cherish every moment. This truly is such a wonderful gift to give and have personalized if you’re still looking for something to gift to that special someone in your life.
Also for those of you who may be interested in purchasing one of these gorgeous wooden watches head over to my Instagram Page (link in bio) where I am hosting a Giveaway (or click the giveaway link) with Jord Watches for a chance to win $100 toward your very own Wooden Watch! Everyone who enters also gets a 10% off consolation prize (expires 2/25). The contest ends 2/11 11:59pm. So head over now and enter for your chance to win!

Wooden Wrist Watch

Who says fashion needs to be expensive?

One of my goals for 2018 is to simplify my wardrobe. I have been in dire need of a major clean out, and to just add a few quality pieces to my closet. Pieces that are more universal and can be worn for many different occasions! I’m all about getting the best bang for my buck. Fashion has always been something I was intrigued with; I never really gravitate towards things that are too simple (I guess you can say I like to stand out from the crowd lol).

A brief little history; I had planned to study fashion design at FIDM before I chose to attend MUD (Makeup Designory). I was really torn between the two, but could only chose one. Being that I had already had my Cosmetology License at this point I felt the best career move would be to go the beauty path. With that being said, I now dabble in my own style of fashion — mixing and matching different patterns and textures. Starting this blog & sharing my secrets just felt like the right thing to do. If anyone is to take anything away from my content, I hope that it just inspires someone to always be themselves. Never feel ashamed or embarrassed to be different than others, that is what sets you apart from the rest anyhow! If we were all the same, it would be hard to express our own uniqueness.

Now to get into the details of this outfit! For starters, I am a bargain shopper. I am also a HUGE believer in recycling clothing. Which is why some of my favorite stores to shop at are: Buffalo Exchange, Crossroads Trading Co, Runway Fashion Exchange & yes sometimes even Goodwill has some good finds! The faux fur vest is by Sanctuary Clothing but I recently got it at Buffalo Exchange in Ventura for $17! My distressed jeans are by Zara Denim they were $14 & they are also from Buffalo Exchange is Ventura (I found them at the same time). My blouse is from Anthropologie and by Holding Horses it was $23 (it’s a superrrr soft and cozy shirt!) My shoes are from Target (one of my absolute favorite places to shop ever; like seriously keep me out of that store I cannot contain myself lol) they are by “A New Day” one of Target’s newest brands. These are what I call my “Gucci Dupes” and they are super comfy & to top it all off they were only $28 like a fraction of the real ones! My necklace is by Serefina also from Anthro & I got it for $11. Lastly my hat (I seriously think everytime I wear this thing I get a compliment and it’s the least expensive thing I have on in this entire outfit lol) it was $7 on clearance at H&M. I freaking love this hat though, its been a great staple piece in my wardrobe now for quite sometime. So needless to say I love a good sale, and it’s hard for me to pass up a good deal! But hey who doesn’t like a good deal??!
